GEC Beyond Academics
At GEC, it is believed that education is broad concept that surpasses the four walls of classroom. Hence, it gives importance to all round development of its students. All round development essentially means intellectual, physical, moral and social development. The faculty members at GEC strike a balance between syllabus, curriculam, books and co-curricular activities beyond that. The prime objective is to transform the students culturally well developed social animals. It also tries to identify various hidden talents of the students and bring them out..
At GEC, the focus is on exposing the students to a multitude of experiences, as opposed to being soley focused on book learning. Such students usually grow up to excel socially, emotionally and professionally in an inter-dependent and complex world. These influences are gently introduced into the student’s perspective over his or her time at Gandhi Engineering College through co-curricular activities, Sports etc.
Students here are introduced to a whole new horizon of activities that provide them a better insight and let them choose what they enjoy and what they wish to learn. It broadens new horizons for them. There is a huge plethora of options that a student can choose from. Students are encouraged to indulge in activities beyond academics. Several seminars and workshop are conducted in GEC which are highly interactive and empower the students with presentation skills. They are held regularly to enable the students to accelerate their individual growth. Students basically learn about latest technologies and their trends over short period of time.
Co-curricular activities at GEC:
The various co-curricular activities at GEC aims to provide better fitness to students and inculcate a sense of sportsmanship, competitive spirit, leadership, cooperation and team spirit. The hidden motive behind all this is to develop self-confidence and to easily learn to trust the team. Experiences and appreciation which students gain through these activities help students during internships and other sponsored programs. The co-curricular activities in GEC help in character building, instilling spiritual and moral values.
GEC organizes several competition from time to time to identify and encourage the potentials. The students are continuously trained throughout their course of study to participate in various activities that are not just confined to the classroom. The winners are recognized every year via awards and certificates.
