Considered as the epitome amongst all core branches, the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at GEC, prides in itself for its high standard of teaching, ultra-modern laboratories and the innovative extra curricular educational programmes.

It regularly organizes training programme and workshops on matters like MATLAB, ORCAD and project works to supplement the curriculum which helps broadening the knowledge of the students.

Comprehensive industry need-based modular training programmes are also conducted for the students to help facilitate their placements in industries of repute.

The department comprises of Basic Electrical Lab, Network Devices Lab, Electrical Machine Lab, Power Electronics Lab, Control System and Instrumentation Lab, Power Systems Lab etc..

Novel project works by its students under the guidance of faculties in the field of Solar Energy has brought laurels to the department and the Institution. All its faculty are members of reputed Societies and bodies such as Institute Of Engineers and ISTE, throgh which workshops, seminars and webminars are condcuted on aregular basis benefitting both the students and faculties alike.

Apart from the two Four-Year UG programmes leading to B.Tech in “Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)” and B.Tech in “Electrical Engineering (EE)” the department also conducts one PG progamme leading to M.Tech in “Power Electronics & Drives (PE&D)”

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering aims to be recognized for its outstanding teaching and learning through pool of dedicated and technically rich faculty using state of the art infrastructure with a purpose of making its students technically sound professionals, who are imbibed with innovative, entrepreneurial and technical  skills so as to be industry ready and more employable.

Mission of the Department

M1:      To develop a team of highly qualified and dedicated faculty who has the rediness to learn   and get themselves updated, through training and faculty development programmes, with the ever progressing changes in the field of electrical engineering.

M2:      To develop and keep upgraded state of the art laboratories meeting all the requirements of syllabus besides being able to impart training on extra-curricular technical skills that a student need to have knowledge of.

M3:      To conduct seminars and workshops inviting and involving eminent academicians and persons of repute from industries in order to help both students and faculty keep themselves updated with the latest developments in the field of engineering in general and related field of electrical & electronics engineering in particular.

M4:      To provide the students with academic environment of excellence, leadership, ethical guidelines and lifelong learning needed for a long productive career.

M5:      To develop and maintain a collaborative environment that stimulates faculty and students to involve in active research and developments.
